Wood Wharf, London

The first residential building in Canary Wharf’s history.
A landmark within the emerging Wood Wharf district of London.

“A finalist in the British Home Awards for best community living
& winner of the best apartment scheme at the WhatHouse? Awards.”

Commissioned by Canary Wharf Group, the two adjacent buildings are conceived as a single architectural proposal with differing tenures sharing a single architectural language.

The buildings support the emerging Wood Wharf community, which will comprise up to 3,600 new homes, as well as retail and public spaces, gardens and parks, a doctor’s surgery and a school.

Designed to create a strong sense of place, the buildings are welcoming at street level, while at the same time evoking a feeling of solidity and permanence. In doing so, they clearly signify the shift from Canary Wharf’s commercial district to the calmer residential docks.

Containing 345-apartments & rising 42 storeys, 10 Park Drive plays a key role in establishing Wood Wharf as a thriving new neighbourhood. Accommodation comprises 141 two-bedroom apartments, 115 one-bedroom apartments, 74 studios and 15 three-bedroom apartments.

10 Park Drive’s counterpart is the 13-storey 8 Water Street, which contains 174 rental apartments & ground floor retail. Its lower-rise character offers a more intimate connection with the nearby water and green space.
As well as their own balconies or terraces, residents also have access to a secluded ‘oasis in the city’ lounge and terraced roof garden on the 13th floor.

10 Park Drive was awarded Gold for the best apartment scheme at the 2020 WhatHouse? Awards. 8 Water Street was a finalist in the 2022 British Home Awards for best community living.
