Contemporary coastal homes, Lincolnshire
Nestled amongst the unspoilt beauty of the Lincolnshire coastline and opposite one of the finest golf courses in the UK, these six unique homes will overlook the beautiful Gibraltar Point nature reserve and have sea views.
Gibraltar Point is an extraordinary national nature reserve, celebrated for its diverse wildlife and breathtaking views. It is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
Securing planning permission here demanded the highest quality of design.
Spanning five acres, the development will comprise six remarkable homes, each carefully designed to enjoy uninterrupted views of the nature reserve and sea to the east, and open countryside to the west.
The design follows a ‘pattern-book’ of materials and proportions. This will allow for minor design changes to each home without significantly impacting the planning permission or the overall sense of place.
Locally quarried Lincolnshire Limestone and durable hardwood reflect the colours of this special landscape on the lower portion of each home and help to ‘ground’ the buildings in their setting. In contrast, the upper level is glazed and conceived as a lightweight pavilion which will blend into and reflect the expansive ‘Lincolnshire skies’ the area is so well known for.
Living and sleeping accommodation is raised above ground level to enable uninterrupted views across the nature reserve and out to sea.
Balconies at first floor level are set into deep reveals which will provide solar shading. Lined in hardwood, vertical screens will provide privacy between the bedrooms.
The main living spaces on the top floor will have access to a full-length terrace from which to enjoy the dramatic sun rises of this unspoilt location.
